they get caught so caught up in their own little world they dont even realize a world outside of theirs exist. as a result, the world outside don't notice that they're even there because their lives have had so little impact on anyone but their own.
to them, the world outside is scary. they are threatened. and by what? no one cares what they've done, are doing, or will ever do because their significance is none.
they tout their desire to make a difference. but they wont. they are merely bystanders; casual observers if they observe at all.
